July is Georgia Marble Month

Copy of LIMESTONE MONTH

We had so much fun sharing the love for limestone during June. From centers of government to memorials and college campuses, the durability and enduring elegance of limestone are the reason Indiana Limestone is known as the stone that built America. Can anything be better? We’re glad you asked!

Welcome to July. This month we’ll be celebrating Georgia Marble from Polycor’s quarry in Tate, Georgia. Incredibly strong and versatile, it’s easy to fall for this luxurious natural wonder as it’s a perfect choice for indoor and outdoor spaces.

Georgia Marble has been a favorite with architects, designers and homeowners since the quarry first started production in 1835. The New York Stock Exchange, the Federal Reserve Building, the U.S. Capitol building and Air Force Academy, or architect Kellen Minor's spectacular kitchen in his Decatur home—all stand as a testament to the natural beauty and strength of this locally and ethically sourced, certified sustainable building material from one of the only zero-waste quarries in the entire world.

Enduring Beauty is Its Hallmark

Residential and architectural projects across North America have relied on Georgia Marble for more than 130 years with good reason. A closely packed, homogenous grain structure lends superior durability to this marble. This quality is particularly reassuring to builders and designers who want to use marble in high traffic and high-use applications. Thousands of installations—indoors and outdoors—proves this marble is tough enough to endure and retain its naturally glamorous look and feel for generations of living.

And inch for inch, there’s no other marble that produces white and gray veining with such organic movement as Georgia Marble. It’s mesmerizing in its flow, commanding attention whether it’s used for kitchen countertops, installed as pavers for patios and pools, or carved into spectacular pillars that hold up architectural icons like the Candler Building in Atlanta, Georgia.
